Manchester really is great for gluten free places to eat. There are so many to choose from, we were very spoilt for choice, but I see people recommend Dough all the time. We just had to go there.
My son was also particularly impressed as they do different shaped pizzas for kids, including a dinosaur and Mickey Mouse alongside kids cocktails in the theme of their favourite characters like Super Mario and Cinderella so that’s one major tick for him. I love going somewhere where they really include the kids, makes for a better meal all round.
What I really liked about Dough is that every pizza can be made on a gluten free base and there are so many different styles of toppings you don’t find anywhere else. I felt really spoilt for choice. I was torn between most of the menu to be honest, Chicken Balti, Surf and Turf or even a calzone. Had we not of been getting a cooked breakfast every morning in the hotel I would of gone for the full English pizza, but I decided to go for BBQ Pulled Pork with Apple slaw.
It arrived with specific gluten free and dairy free card labels which was great, you do always wonder if they’ve given you the right pizza especially when they look this tasty so they were a welcome bonus. The taste didn’t disappoint either, so fresh and delicious it really had me wondering!
I got handed a dessert menu but with being dairy and gluten intolerant there isn’t normally something for me to pick, sorbet has kind of run its course a little now. I was pleasantly surprised to to see two options for me and not your usual ones either. I went for peanut butter krispie bites which were coated in vegan chocolate and had a peanut butter dip, so so yummy. They also had a triple cookie ice cream sandwich which I could of chosen, I really wanted to order both but I was so full. Another excuse to come back!
Thank you Dough for having such amazing choices. This is not a place to be missed if you’re ever in the Manchester area.
